Consensus Building
 

The root word for consensus in Latin is consentio which means "feeling together".

Consensus is process of brainstorming to reach a decision acceptable to most (if not all) of the people involved in the decisionmaking process.

 

The primary intent in consultation (shura) based decision-making process is (a) Fairness (Adl) and (b) Social Solidarity (Asabiyya). And from social solidarity comes the group economic strength followed by political power

Consensus without Trust

Scholar speaks of assumption (zann) as something that you can catch easily. It’s  harmful to the social bonding and bad for spiritual growth. It means to stockpiling resentments against others based on suspicion (zann), without any proof.
